5 Things to Consider When Choosing a Direct Sales Company

Each day, more and more people are starting to realize the amazing benefits and income potential that comes with the direct sales or network marketing industry. I want to share 5 important factors that I think you should consider when choosing a direct sales company to partner with. Those 5 things are:

  • Products - In order to be successful in this industry, products (and your love for them) is super important. The more excitement there is around your products, the more customers and team members you will attract. When you are looking to join a direct sales company, make sure that the products are easily marketable for you. Become a customer first if you have to. Try them out and see if you like them.
     

  • Company/Culture - It's important to know what a company stands for. What kind of culture has been created? Remember, you are going to have your name and brand aligned with this company, so be sure that their culture is something that you could be proud to be a part of.
     

  • Leadership - One thing that can be a little discouraging in the direct sales industry is leadership. Sometimes, people will sign up just about anyone but won't help them to have success and let's them go at it on their own. This creates confusion and pushes people away from the direct sales industry altogether. Join someone who you would really work with and that really takes pride in helping others. Before signing up, let your new sponsor know how important this is to you.
     

  • Timing - This is everything when it comes to opportunity. The truth is: there will never be a perfect time to start a business; even in direct sales/network marketing. So if you're doubting getting starting and waiting for "the right time"..STOP! Start anyway, and learn as you go. You can even make money without having all the answers.
     

  • Compensation - Know the compensation plan! This is imperative if you want to actually make money in your business. Know what needs to be done to achieve your income goals. You'll also want to understand your compensation plan so that you can help future team members to understand it and have success.
