I come in contact with so many people on a daily basis; wanting to chat about business, entrepreneurship, marketing, etc. I absolutely love helping others to succeed in these areas, but one question that I ask that people seem to stumble on:
What does success mean to you?
Before we start working on building a business or brand, I think that this should be one of the first questions that we should ask ourselves. Why? Because when answered, we can know what direction to go, what our goals should be, and what actionable steps that need to be taken. Keep in mind, success doesn't have to have monetary value. Yes, we are in business to make money, but the money will come if you are strategic, consistent, and hard-working, I truly believe that. Everyone has a different idea of what success looks like. When I set out to be a full-time entrepreneur, money wasn't my primary focus. Sure, I definitely wanted to make money by doing what I loved. Success to me was, and still is, time. I really wanted to have more time and to be more present in my son's life. I knew working 10-12 hour days, 5-6 days a weeks wasn't exactly going to get me there. Success to me was also peace of mind. I take my self-care very seriously, and for me, my work situation was affecting my health because of stress and anxiety. Knowing what my own personal version of success was helped me to spring into action and make some changes for my son and I. But this is MY story. Success may very well be making tons of money while working on the beaches of the world, or being able to give millions to charity, or being able to travel whenever you feel like it. But knowing what you want helps you to create your path. Do you need help with identifying your version of success or need an action plan to get you started? Click here.
